Containing a row of impressive peaks of the Rocky Mountain range, Grand Teton National Park holds a rugged beauty that makes it a fascinating area to explore. Scenic roads offer drivers the chance to head up towards the mountain peaks or down towards the lakes, with numerous pullouts offering short hikes for a bit of physical activity. Longer hikes head off from a number of common trailheads, with those around the lakes being the most popular with guests. Some truly adventurous climbers embark on the designated mountaineering trails up to the actual mountain peaks, but for most traveling by car or foot is the best way to explore. The lakes provide plenty of room for all sorts of water-based activities, from fishing to water skiing to simply paddling around.
