The Jackson Hole Historical Society & Museum was originally opened in 1957 to store and display the artifact collection of Slim Lawrence, a 12,000-piece set that included Native American pottery and weapons of the era. Today, the museum continues to display the collection in addition to a wide variety of permanent and changing exhibits, that focus on the history of the region, including exhibits on Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
